Power Supply and DC Power Backup Function

Samlex America's SEC-UL series industrial chargers can be used as a power supply and as a power backup source.

Use as a power supply:

• When the charger is used as a power supply, the load is simply connected directly to the charger on the negative terminal and one of the three positive terminals. Please note that the load consumption must not exceed the charger's capacity.

Use as a DC power backup source:

• When the charger is used as a power backup source, it is necessary to modify the configuration of the charger's DIP switches as follows:

• Once the DIP switch configuration has been modified, the load must be connected directly to the battery—it is recommended to use a switch between the load and the battery—with the load turned off.
• Subsequently, connect the charger to the battery. Once connected, connect the charger's power supply; the charger will begin to deliver current to the battery based on its charge state, ensuring it stays charged. In case of a power failure, the load will be powered directly by the battery, and once power returns, the charger will resume charging the battery.
