The DFE100 splice closure is used to facilitate fiber optic cable repairs. Common fiber sizes for 8.1 mm, 5.4 mm, and 5.1 mm rectangular cables and 3.0 mm and 5.1 mm round cables are accommodated with the supplied sealing glands.
It supports a total of 12 fusion splices and 2 mechanical splices that are securely placed inside the closure with IP68 ingress protection. The DFE100 can be permanently buried or mounted on the side of a building.
If there is not enough fiber slack in a cut to perform the fusion, 2 DFE100 closures can be used to perform the repair.
The DFE100 provides a splice point location within the network construction, as well as a demarcation point at the premises.
