The DFE101 splice closure is used to facilitate fiber optic cable repairs. Common fiber sizes of 8.1 mm, 5.4 mm, and 5.1 mm rectangular cables and 3.0 mm and 5.1 mm round cables are accommodated with the supplied sealing glands.
It supports a total of 12 fusion splices and 2 mechanical splices that are placed securely inside the closure with IP68 ingress protection. The DFE101 can be permanently buried or mounted on the side of a building.
If there is not enough excess fiber in a cut to perform the fusion, 2 DFE100/DFE101 closures can be used to perform the repair.
The DFE101 provides a splice point location within the network construction, as well as a demarcation point at the premises.
