LoRaWAN sensors operate remotely and in real-time, but they require three elements to function:
- LoRaWAN Sensor — The device that captures data (temperature, humidity, motion, etc.)
- LoRaWAN Gateway — Receives the signal from the sensors and sends it to the internet. Coverage varies by model: from 2 km in urban areas up to 15 km in open fields. View Article

Without a gateway, there is no connectivity. Without a platform, there is no visualization.

Intelligent U-turn detection
By detecting U-shaped flow trajectories, the sensor's accuracy is guaranteed, avoiding unnecessary counting. For example, it filters out redundant counts of people wandering in the area to filter out individuals who do not actually enter the premises.

Higher ceiling mounting
Breaking through installation limitations, an optional higher ceiling mount version is available for installation at a height of up to 7m, covering a wider area of up to 126 m². It is ideal for high-ceiling applications such as retail stores and shopping malls, providing flexible adaptability to scenarios to enhance practicality.
Large detection area
Installed at the recommended height of 3 meters, the sensor covers a large area of 78 m². It sits above the workspace to ensure no spot goes undetected. Additionally, the high ceiling mount version allows for a wider view of a larger area of 126 m².
16 custom detection regions
Up to 16 custom regions can be set for precise detection. Each region is independent. They are capable of detecting and triggering alarms individually, satisfying specific application demands to achieve true customization. In addition, the schedule can be set for more flexible and personalized performance.
Line-crossing people counting
With bidirectional counting that supports drawing irregular lines, the sensor—with an ultra-high recognition rate of 98%—obtains more accurate and informed people counting data.
Milesight D2D communication
The exclusive Milesight LoRa®-based protocol allows the VS121 to easily communicate with other Milesight LoRaWAN® devices without network infrastructure involvement in 1 second. Installations, such as lights, can be intelligently switched via linkage for precise, timely, and automatic responses, saving energy for management staff.
