When an atmospheric discharge occurs, the suppressor will receive the damage. If the discharge is direct, of greater intensity than indicated in the technical data sheet, and carries sufficient heat and accumulated voltage, the suppressor will create an opening of approximately one inch at the bottom of the canister and expel hot silicon and plastic fragments, performing its maximum blocking function and protecting the circuit. Install the canister outside the cabinet as shown in the images.

In an interconnection system, installation is performed at the thermal circuit breaker where the modules arrive at the inverter, respecting the colors and polarities as shown in the previous image; it may be omitted for microinverters.
