Power supply and DC UPS function

Samlex America's SEC-UL series industrial chargers can be used as a power supply and as a DC UPS.

Use as a power supply:

• When the charger is used as a power supply, the load is connected directly to the charger via the negative terminal and one of the three positive terminals. Keep in mind that the load consumption must not exceed the capacity of the charger.

Use as a DC UPS:

• When the charger is used as a DC UPS, it is necessary to modify the charger's DIP switch settings as follows:

• Once the DIP switch settings have been modified, the load should be connected directly to the battery -it is recommended to use a switch between the load and the battery- with the load turned off.
• Subsequently, the charger is connected to the battery; once connected to the system, the charger's power is turned on. The charger will begin providing current to the battery based on its charge state, ensuring it remains charged. In the event of a power failure, the load will be powered directly by the battery, and once power returns, the charger will recharge the battery.
