The HUAWEI eKitEngine AR580 series is a new-generation converged security gateway platform designed for the network edge in head offices and branch offices of small and medium-sized enterprises. It integrates routing, switching, wireless access controller (WAC), and next-generation firewall (NGFW) capabilities into a single device, eliminating the need for multiple appliances and simplifying network architecture. With 10GE and 2.5GE high-speed ports, support for up to 1,200 concurrent users and 120 managed APs, the series offers scalable performance ranging from 2 to 3 Gbps of recommended bandwidth, with switching capacities of up to 96 Gbps–160 Gbps in the top model. The optimized forwarding framework allows the CPU to process gateway or firewall services on demand, while signature databases—over 6,000 applications identified with over 95% accuracy, more than 1,200 IPS signatures covering 85% of vulnerability exploits, and coverage of over 500 million malicious URLs—ensure a robust security posture with updates within hours. Management can be performed via the HUAWEI eKit app, the SME Network Center, EasyWeb, or Neosight, facilitating cloud and local operations with centralized WLAN planning, deployment, inspection, and O&M capabilities, including Portal authentication without the need for a dedicated WAC or authentication server.
