The StarterHornTM 30 USMA has a unique radiation pattern. The main beam is symmetrical, with a circular cross-section: the azimuth and elevation beamwidths are both 30º at -6 dB.

Excellent Noise Immunity

Noise in unlicensed 5 GHz wireless networks is caused by side lobes from the widely used traditional patch array antennas. The StarterHornTM 30 USMA has no side lobes, which ensures efficient spectrum usage. As a result, your wireless network does not suffer from major interference.

High Beam Efficiency

Beam Efficiency (BE) is a measure of side lobes with values from 0 to 100%. The higher the BE, the fewer side lobes an antenna has: the StarterHornTM 30° USMA has a BE of 92%, suppressing the vast majority of interference and providing a game-changing performance boost. For reference, the BE of widely used patch array sector antennas rarely exceeds 58%.

Frequency-Independent Beamwidth and Gain

The shape of the main lobe and the gain of the StarterHornTM 30 USMA do not change with frequency. The antenna's performance is super stable over a wide frequency range between the U-NII-1 and U-NII-3 bands. This is extremely important for WISPs planning their network deployments, as they can rely on the antenna's performance every time they switch a channel.
