Operation
Activation requires pushing in and then pulling down the handle, which locks it in the down/activated position. Upon activation, the word 'ACTIVATED' (in bright yellow) appears at the top of the handle, while a portion of the handle protrudes from the bottom of the station. To reset, simply unlock the station with the key and open the door. This action resets the handle; closing the door automatically resets the switch.
Application
Manual fire alarm stations shall be non-coded, with a key-operated reset lock to allow for testing, and designed so that after an emergency operation, they cannot be restored to their normal state except by using a key. The activated station shall be automatically conditioned to be visually detected as activated.
Standards and Certifications
Complies with UL 38, Standard for Manually Actuated Signaling Boxes. Complies with ADAAG Section 4.1.3[13] for controls and operating mechanisms. Verifies 5 lb. maximum activation requirements.
