4-Wire Photoelectric Smoke Detector with Isolated Thermal Sensor, Built-in Sounder and Relay, i3 Series

General Description

The i3™ Series smoke detectors with sounder and/or relay represent a significant technological advancement in conventional detection, featuring enhanced capabilities for simple installation, instant inspection, and intelligence to reject false alarms.

All i3 series detectors come equipped with automatic drift compensation algorithms and mathematical curve fitting. These algorithms minimize the incidence of false alarms caused by short-term effects, such as electromagnetic induction and/or radio frequency interference, and long-term effects like dust accumulation. When 2-wire i3 detectors are connected to the 2WMOD2 loop maintenance and test module or to an i3-compatible panel (i3 Ready™), they will generate a remote maintenance signal when a detector enters a cleaning condition and/or a freeze trouble condition when the ambient temperature surrounding the detector is below 5 °C. To measure the sensitivity level of any i3 detector, the SENSRDR inspection module is used, which can display the numerical sensitivity value expressed as a percentage of obscuration per foot in a few seconds.

Important Note

In the 4WITAR-B model, the photoelectric smoke sensor is isolated from the fixed-temperature thermal sensor. It provides a local, self-resetting audible alarm for smoke detection that does not alarm the panel or activate the relay. Only the fixed-temperature sensor causes the 4WITAR-B to initiate an alarm at the panel and activate the relay.
