General features

The i3™ series smoke detectors with sounder and/or relay represent a significant technological advancement in conventional detection, featuring enhanced capabilities for simple installation, instant inspection, and intelligence to reject false alarms.

Technical specifications
  • Photoelectric sensor
  • Voltage: 12/24 VDC
  • Form C relay at 2A @ 30 VAC/VDC
  • 85 dB local audible alarm
  • Fixed temperature sensor at 57.2°C (135°F)
  • Standby current: 50 μA
  • Alarm current: 130 mA
  • Sensitivity: 2.5%/ft
  • Operating temperature: 0º to 37.8º C
  • Humidity: 0 to 95% non-condensing
  • Dimensions: 134 mm diameter, 51 mm height
Advanced technology

The i3 series detectors are equipped with algorithms for automatic sensitivity compensation due to dirt and mathematical curve adjustment.

These algorithms minimize the incidence of false alarms caused by short-term effects, such as electromagnetic induction and/or radio frequency interference, and by long-term effects like dust accumulation.

When 2-wire i3 detectors are connected to the 2WMOD2 loop maintenance and test module or to a panel compatible with the i3 protocol (i3 Ready™), they will generate a remote maintenance signal when any detector enters a cleaning condition and/or a freeze fault condition when the ambient temperature surrounding the detector is below 5°C.

Diagnostic tools

To measure the sensitivity level of any i3 detector, the SENSRDR inspection module is used, with which the numerical sensitivity value, expressed in percent obscuration per foot, can be viewed in a few seconds.
