General Description
The Fire-Lite I300 isolator module is used with MS-9050UD, MS-9200UDLS, MS-9600UDLS panels and the Fire-Lite Endurance series ES50X, ES50XI, ES200X, and ES200XI to protect the system from wire-to-wire short circuits on the SLC loop. It must be located between each device on the SLC loop to isolate a short circuit problem between the devices.
The I300(A) module is used to isolate short circuits between groups of devices on a loop, allowing the other sections to continue operating normally. It supports a maximum of 25 devices between isolators, except when using relay bases.
Main Features
- UL, ULC, MEA, FM, and CSFM listed
- Operates without external power, powered directly by the SLC loop
- Isolates devices allowing normal operation in case of a short circuit
- Low power consumption: 0.45 mA
- Mounts in standard 4.0' x 2.125' electrical boxes
- Compact dimensions: 114 x 114 x 6 mm
- Indicator LED: flashes in normal condition and stays lit when a short circuit is detected
- High noise immunity (EMF/RFI)
Technical Specifications
Applications
The I300(A) isolator module must be placed between groups of devices on a loop to protect the rest of the system. It is used to isolate short circuit problems within a section of the loop, allowing the other sections to continue operating normally.
On Style 4 loops, the I300(A) is generally used on every T-tap, limiting the effect of short circuits on one branch to the devices on that specific branch.
Capacity: Supports a maximum of 25 devices between isolators, except when using B224RB relay bases, which represent 2.5 devices each.
Operation
The I300(A) isolator module automatically opens the circuit when the line voltage drops below 4 volts. When a short circuit occurs between two isolators, both immediately switch to an open-circuit state and isolate the groups of sensors between them.
The LED indicator remains lit continuously during a short circuit condition. The I300(A) isolator module automatically restores the shorted portion of the communication loop to normal conditions.
Installation
- Mounts in standard 4.0' (10.16 cm) square electrical boxes at least 2.125' (5.398 cm) deep
- Can also be mounted in surface-mount boxes (SMB500, optional)
- Includes terminal screws for 'in and out' connections
- Installation instructions are provided with each module
