Features
- Forged cable clip for guy wire installations for constant load or high demand
- Complies with specification FFC 4500 Type 1, class 1
-
Recommended torque: 7.5 lb-ft
-
Minimum number of clips per connection: 2
-
Distance from the thimble at which the first clip must be installed: 3-1/4"
Installation Steps
- The length required to install clips in each case shall be obtained by multiplying the diameter by 25 up to 1' and by 35 up to 2'
-
1. Bend the steel cable to the required measurement to form the eye, install the first clip, which should be next to the dead end of the cable, approx. 10 cm, and secure it with the "U" section, while the load line must rest on and be held by the saddle of the clip; accommodate the thimble in the load position

-
2. Install the second clip in the same manner at the other end, next to the thimble; tighten firmly but not yet to the required force

-
3. Place the third clip (if applicable) exactly halfway between the other two. All clips must have the same orientation

-
4. Apply slight tension, tighten, and readjust the grip of the nuts, doing so gradually and alternately until the recommended torque is reached
-
5. Check each and every clip before performing the first maneuver and subsequently at regular intervals, as the tension tends to stretch the cable and therefore decreases its diameter
Important Note
NOTE: The guy wire will stretch and its diameter may change when tension begins. It must be inspected periodically and re-tensioned. The recommended torque value is based on clean, dry nuts free of any lubricant.
