Key Features

  • Made of stainless steel.
  • Recommended for 1/8" guy wire (SRET318CAM or SRET18DA)
  • Recommended use per tie-off: 3 pieces
  • Ideal for heavy loads
  • Recommended for suspension or securing of guyed towers, masts, poles, and similar structures.
Safety Notes
  • Use the same size wire rope clip for the same size wire rope.
  • Never use malleable iron clips in critical, heavy-duty applications, or for overhead lifting, such as slings, suspension lines, guide lines, tow lines, load securement, scaffolding, etc.
  • Malleable iron clips are intended for making terminations:
    • Only for light-duty, non-critical applications such as light loads, handrails, trellises, area fencing, etc.
    • Apply an initial load to test the assembly. This load must be equal to or greater than the weight it will support. Then, check and re-tighten the nuts to the recommended torque.
Wire Rope Clip Installation Method
  1. Turn back the wire rope the necessary length around the thimble, and install the first clip at a distance equal to the width of its base from the dead end of the wire rope. Tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque.
  2. When only two clips are necessary, install the second one as close as possible to the loop or the thimble, and tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque. When more than two clips are required, install the second clip as close as possible to the loop or the thimble and turn the nuts firmly without tightening them.
  3. Install all necessary clips between the first two with equal spacing between each, and located in the same orientation. Ensure the nuts of all clips are tightened according to the specified torque.
  4. Finally, apply a load equal to or greater than what is expected to be used to test the assembly. Immediately check and, if necessary, re-tighten the nuts according to the recommended torque using a torque wrench.
