Key features:
- Made of stainless steel.
- Recommended for 3/16" guy wire (SRET474CAM or SRET316DA)
- Recommended usage per tie-off: 3 pieces
- Ideal for heavy loads
- Recommended for suspension or securing guyed towers, masts, poles, and similar structures.
Safety Notes:
- Use the same size clip for the same size steel cable.
- Never use malleable iron clips in critical, heavy-duty, or overhead lifting applications, such as slings, suspension lines, guy lines, tow lines, cargo tie-downs, scaffolding, etc.
- Malleable iron clips are for making terminations:
- Only for light-duty and non-critical applications such as light loads, handrails, fencing, area protection, etc.
- Apply an initial load to test the assembly. This load should be equal to or greater than the weight it will support. Then, check and retighten the nuts to the recommended torque.
Wire Rope Clip Installation Method:
- Turn back the wire rope the necessary length around the thimble, and install the first clip at a distance from the dead end of the wire rope equal to the width of its base. Tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque.
- When only two clips are necessary, install the second one as close as possible to the loop or thimble, and tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque. When more than two clips are required, install the second clip as close as possible to the loop or thimble and tighten the nuts firmly without applying full torque.
- Install all necessary additional clips between the first two with equal spacing, and located in the same orientation. Ensure the nuts on all clips are tightened to the specified torque.
- Finally, apply a load equal to or greater than the expected load to test the assembly. Then, check and, if necessary, retighten the nuts to the recommended torque using a torque wrench.
