Key Features
- Made of forged steel.
- Hot-dip galvanized coating.
- Recommended maximum torque: 15 N.m
- Recommended for 3/16' guy wire (SRET474CAM or SRET316DA)
- Recommended use per connection: 3 pieces
- Ideal for heavy-duty loads
- Recommended for suspension or securing guyed towers, masts, poles, and similar structures.
Safety Notes
- Use the same size wire rope clip for the corresponding size of wire rope.
- Never use malleable iron clips in critical, heavy-duty applications, or for suspension loads, such as slings, suspension lines, guide lines, drag lines, load securing, scaffolding, etc.
- Malleable iron clips are for making terminations:
- Only for light-duty and non-critical applications such as light loads, handrails, fencing, area protection, etc.
- Apply an initial load to test the assembly. This load must be equal to or greater than the intended service load. Then check and re-tighten the nuts to the recommended torque.
Wire Rope Clip Installation Method
- Loop the cable the necessary length around the thimble, and install the first clip at a distance from the dead end of the cable equal to the width of the clip base. Tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque.
- When only two clips are necessary, install the second one as close as possible to the cable loop or thimble, and tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque. When more than two clips are required, install the second clip as close as possible to the cable loop or thimble and tighten the nuts firmly but do not fully torque them.
- Install all required clips between the first two with equal spacing between them, and in the same orientation. Ensure the nuts on all clips are tightened to the specified torque.
- Finally, apply a load equal to or greater than the intended service load to test the assembly. Immediately inspect and, if necessary, re-tighten the nuts to the recommended torque using a torque wrench.
