Key Features
- Made of forged steel
- Hot-dip galvanized coating
- Maximum recommended torque: 55 N.m
- Recommended for 3/8' guy wire (SRET338CAM or SRET38DA)
- Recommended usage per connection: 3 pieces
- Ideal for heavy loads
- Recommended for the suspension or fastening of guyed towers, masts, poles, and similar structures
Safety Notes
- Use the same size clip for the corresponding steel wire rope size
- Never use malleable iron clips in critical, heavy-duty applications, or for overhead lifting, such as slings, suspension lines, guy lines, drag lines, load tie-downs, scaffolding, etc.
- Malleable iron clips are for making terminations:
- Only for light-duty and non-critical applications such as light loads, handrails, fences, area protection, etc.
- Apply an initial load to test the assembly. This load must be equal to or greater than the weight it will support. Then, check and re-tighten the nuts to the recommended torque.
Installation Method for Wire Rope Clips
- Turn back the wire rope the required length around the thimble, and install the first clip at a distance from the dead end of the wire rope equal to the width of its base. Tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque.
- When only two clips are necessary, install the second one as close as possible to the loop or the thimble, and tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque. When more than two clips are required, install the second clip as close as possible to the loop or the thimble and turn the nuts firmly without tightening them completely.
- Install all required clips between the first two with equal spacing between one another, and located in the same position. Ensure that the nuts on all clips are tightened according to the specified torque.
- Finally, apply a load equal to or greater than the expected load to test the assembly. Immediately check, and if necessary, re-tighten the nuts according to the recommended torque using a torque wrench.
