The OPTEX LX-402 redefines short-range perimeter detection. Designed for outdoor environments where light changes without warning and interference is constant, this PIR sensor combines double conductive shielding, selectable detection patterns, and an integrated light sensor that makes decisions for you. With 12 x 15 meters of coverage and full compatibility with any alarm panel, it is the piece that seals the perimeter without adding complexity.

The LX-402 doesn't see just one plane. It toggles between Pet Alley—to ignore pets up to 24 kg—and Multi-Level, which deploys multiple height-based beams to catch what other sensors miss. You adjust sensitivity and range with a physical switch, no software, no app. Detection is calibrated in seconds.
The sun is not an alarm.
Car headlights. Reflections from puddles. The sun facing it at sunset. The LX-402's double conductive shielding filters all of that out before it reaches the sensor element. Light interference—the number one cause of false alarms in outdoor environments—is blocked at the housing level. What enters the PIR is just heat in motion.

The LX-402's sealed housing stands up to rain, dust, and extreme temperatures without degrading. The integrated light sensor automatically switches between day and night modes: by day, it adjusts the gain to avoid saturation from ambient heat; by night, it maximizes sensitivity. Wall mounting with the CA-1W bracket, or direct corner mounting. A single cable. Data and power. Done.

NC/NO relay output. Wired. No proprietary protocols, no licenses, no closed ecosystems. The LX-402 connects to any alarm panel on the market—DSC, Paradox, Honeywell, Caddx, GE—just like an industrial PLC or a lighting contactor. Masking strips are included to trim the detection area with surgical precision. Selectable pulse count: test mode for walk-tests, or 2-pulse mode to ignore incidental events.
