Operation and Equipment

A weather radio is used, which is capable of receiving the signal emitted by the Mexican Seismic Alert System (SASMEX). This is a signal that is broadcast openly, provided one has this radio. This signal is transmitted across 7 different channels, and the channel is selected on the radio according to the zone where the equipment is to be installed, leading to the following point.

The seismic alert is only transmitted in highly seismic zones of the country, such as: Mexico City, Puebla, Acapulco, Chilpancingo, Morelia, Oaxaca, Toluca, and Morelos.
